There is a man in Canberra who
has taken it upon himself to bring bubbles into the lives on Canberra
children. He stands in various public spaces blowing large bubbles,
bubbles within bubbles, telescoping bubbles, tiny bubbles, rainbow
wondrous fascinating bubbles. He is not a street performer as he does
not ask for any money. He doesn't do anything complicated or dress
fancy. He is just a normal guy with soap and a bubble wand. He simply
likes to bring joy and magic to children. He has his various preferred
spots and Sophia is always on the lookout for him. When we see bubbles
floating past as we approach the library she yells with glee and runs to
find the bubble man. She jumps at bubbles and runs around chasing them
and marvels at their colors and stares at them as they float off into
the universe. I don't know much about this man but I am very thankful to
him for choosing to spend his free time bringing happiness to children. What a
beautiful thing to contribute to the community. We need more people in
the world like the bubble man.
