Whoever claims that young adults have worse decision making
abilities never met me and Jakob. Twelve years ago we went with our
young adult impulses and how lovely that we did. No need to overthink
this decision. No need for a pros or cons list. No need for prenups.
This one was obvious and still is. So here we are 12 years later feeling
pretty good and lucky about having met each other.
When
Jakob played in his scrabble tournament last week he was really nervous.
After all, he didn't know a quarter of the words in the dictionary the
Australians use. This in turn made me feel nervous too because I
probably only know about a tenth of the words in the most basic
dictionary. But I reassured him that who cares and if he won one game
that would really be incredible. He got theatrical and said he would win
one game to prove our love! Ummhmmm. Chivalry never does make sense
really but I guess that's the point. And then he texted me to let me
know he won that first game and our love was solid. Phew! And then he
texted again with good news. And again and again. And in fact he won
that whole tournament. So now we know we have some pretty strong love
going on here that conquers all. Well, at least all scrabble players.
