A new leaf

Well here we are in Canberra. Busily trying to establish ourselves as normal folks as quickly as possible. The girls and I have visited a what seems like a lot but is only 4 houses. After two days of looking for somewhere to live I had had enough so in usual Teitelbaum fashion we chose the one of the four that is furnished so requires least effort. Aurora is registered for school and starts after the two week long school holidays (there seem to be no lack of holidays out here). The efficient woman in charge of Aurora's file moved with amazing haste as apparently it was all a very urgent matter. I refrained from mentioning that we have kept her home with us for the past 9 months so the urgency was a matter of perspective because we really did appreciate her lightning fast navigation of paperwork and people. Jakob continues to work hard in the admirable way of his. So in a few weeks time we will settle back into the daily shuffle of normal life for a bit. Meanwhile we are taking advantage of our lack of housing to do fun things like drive out to Sydney to surprise Jakob's parents at the airport and sit around on beaches with them.
It has been a year of moving about. In the past twelve months we have been to 8 countries and three continents. We have stayed at at least 48 different accommodations. The longest we have stayed consecutively in one accommodation was 8 weeks (Canberra).  We have been on 23 airplanes (ouch and this isn't counting all the extra flights Jakob took). We have 6 library cards. We have lost 0 children in the process. It has been stressful at many times but really great fun.  So now for a new kind of fun...

Welcome back to Canberra milkshake. Between four of us we couldn't finish this masterpiece.

Really Canberra?
