Loving Levi

Levana turned one year old this week. The year has passed so swiftly and none of us can believe that a year ago we were welcoming a small helpless newborn on the Canary islands. Now, here we are in Peru with a fiery live-to-the-fullest toddler. She is not afraid to speak up, flirt with every stranger she sees, dance to any music she hears. She has been carried around to 12 countries. She is adaptable, but stubborn in many ways. She insists on eating rocks. She is truly her own person with her own team of six devotees who are all madly in love. Actually, everyone who sees her falls madly in love and can't help engaging with her when she smiles and waves - first slight hand gestures, then finger flapping, then full arm waves until the recipient can do nothing else but confess their love through reciprocation. So, in honour of her first birthday here is a poem to all those people who have made traveling with a baby so much better. And some photos of her birthday trip to Arequipa.

People who smile at babies

I like people who smile at babies.
Their soul shines through.
The baby feels loved
Smiles back.
The mother must look away
from the glow of
connection
humanity
at its finest
I wish all people smiled at babies
This is the love that
we all must
strive for
Pure

The family fragment in Arequipa

This is one.

What Levana would look like if she lived in Santa Catalina monastery

Tribute to another miracle on her birthday

She can climb even though she cant walk

Sister love

Arequipa night life

She lives a tough life
