Our few weeks in California zoomed by at speeds that put the local traffic to shame. They were social weeks filled with family and friends. We had time to regroup our curriculum plan and step up our education for the next year while we were somewhere with English language resources. We were privileged to have so many people welcome us back into their lives and cook elaborate home cooked meals for us. We spend time in the city, time in the desert, time in the mountains, time on the road, and time in the Bay Area. We rekindled our hobby of listening to audio books while driving. We took great advantage of the many bouldering gyms to allow our children to climb to their hearts content and bulk up on upper body strength. We amazingly managed to see all my siblings (we live on three seperate continents) and meet my nephew for the first time. We did really American feeling things like Disneyland, eating peanut butter cups, muscle beach, playing monopoly, and Marilyn Monroes underwear (a sculpture not the real thing). And after 6 and half years of being the digital laughing stock of the family and every phone shop I enter, I got a new phone- so instead of writing anything else take the time to appreciate the improved photo quality you can now expect on this blog (see if you can tell where the camera change occurs).
