Back to Turkiye

September got way more complicated than we expected. Trying to be inclusive I told the children they could decide a place they wanted to go that was a reasonable distance/flight from Israel and they chose to return to Turkiye (Turkey has been officially changed to Turkiye forever forever ending the bad jokes about fowl). It felt a little funny coming back to the same place when there are so many other spots to discover but at the same time it was also a place we knew would be relaxed and easy for Jakob to work remotely from. This time around was much hotter so there was more swimming, more cold drinks, and the mulberries and loquats were replaced with figs and pomegranates. Jakob got to take work calls strolling back and forth along the mediterranean. We were all happy to be back in the fold of a community we enjoy. Such a joy to get to go for park plays with other children, hikes with other ladies, and have chess tournaments with real life people. It was nice that some of the local salespeople remembered the girls and were glad to see them. We had a peaceful, social, and satisfying few weeks. Perhaps we should let the girls make all our decisions from now on.
