After another great weekend at the coast I am going to go out on a Iimb and say what I have been thinking for awhile now. Everyone seems to have a made a big mistake choosing beach holiday destinations. Australia likely has some of the world's best beaches. And when you look at best beaches in the world it is true that a select few Australian beaches usually make the list. Australia has an even bigger advantage though. It has miles and miles of stunning beaches to suit all tastes. There are white sand beaches and surf beaches, and rocky beaches and cliffs beaches, kid friendly beaches, snorkel beaches, shelly beaches. The list goes on and on because it is a big country with an awful lot of beaches. And we have been to many beaches here now and I can vouch for them and let you know they were all spectacular and I would go back to all of them. And here is the the best part - they are generally all empty or nearly empty. They are generally all empty because there are so many of them. They are generally all empty because everyone seems to go to the same four and ignore the other 400. They are generally all empty because Australia isn't considered a beach holiday destination. They are generally all empty because even Australians go to Thailand or Bali for a beach holiday.
We have been to lots and lots of beaches and beach destinations. I grew up at a beach destination. And while it is true that some destinations have a stunning memorable beach or two there has been nowhere else with so many stunning beaches and so few disappointing ones. Lucky us is all I can say.
