There is something calming about water. It never gets dull watching a river churn and twist or an ocean lap. Even Buddha found watching water a useful step towards his enlightenment. So, it is no wonder that our weekend to the coast was relaxing. With moving houses and traveling to other continents we had not been to the coast (not counting all that beach and coast in California!) in a couple of months and we missed it. We didn’t achieve enlightenment but we did find a sense of peace. Our Pebbly Beach campsite was perfectly set up in a nice outcropping of eucalyptus trees next to friends. Our children all frolicked off on their own to pick shells and pet kangaroos. Our pockets were full of bits of sand and rocks and the sun shone happily despite the forecasted rain. It was a great way to welcome in Spring and kick off camping season!
