A matter of neighbourhood

Prague was a great city to explore. We never planned on a trip to Prague, but in the name of going with the flow, when we found flight to Norway via Prague, it seemed a shame not to spend a week. We decided to opt for a more local stay and first found a neighborhood outside the downtown core that seemed a pleasant place to be and then found an apartment in that neighborhood. This worked very much in our favor as we had such a lovely time in our area we found ourselves more and more foregoing tourist attractions in favor of a stroll to the nice local playground. We did of course sightsee; we went to palaces and churches and towers and cemeteries and museums. Tova was not a fan of most of those places. The combination of hot and crowds made her grumpy. So we mostly explored Prague Tamar and Jakob style. We went to all the playgrounds in our neighborhood numerous times, relaxed in cafes, went to the library, the farmers market, played a round of the mini golf near our house, caught up on schoolwork, went to the Boulder Bar four times, found geocaches, enjoyed an organ-violin concert and cooked nice meals.

Looking back at our week, the lasting impressiom is not of the great architecture or rich history, but rather the pleasant neighbourhood of Vinohrady and the ease with which we settled into its life for a week. It's nice to leave a city with lots more energy than when we arrived.
