Southern migration

We have been busy preparing for our parting with Canada. Spreading extra honey on our bagels, fitting in outdoor visits with a few friends, biking in the Summer thunder showers, reading the last pages of our books in the sunshine, inhaling strawberries, and swimming in the lake enough times to etch Canada 2020 into our memories forever. Canada is a lovely country but the Canadian wilderness is what makes it onto the A list (there is no A list that I know of but there may as well be). So much forest. So many lakes and rivers everywhere. If you like to portage you can go far as a Canadian. It is no wonder that in Australia they call canoes 'a Canadian.' This is the land of the silver birch and the home of the beaver. A big thank you to all the First Nations who cared for the land so well and with such respect for so many years. May we learn some of their ways so that Canada can always be on the A list. We will miss Canada and all our friends and family but are excited for the next leg of our journey entitled Hunker Down and Have Fun Down Under. But first -  two days of travel followed by two weeks of government quarantine where our days will be filled with the small minutiae of being locked in a hotel room and staying sane but our minds will still be swimming in a lake.

We will miss this spot and this type of decision making
