Well I'm actually a lonely man. But I've been listening to Ornette Coleman and other angsty music to compensate for Tamar and the girls having flown off to Singapore. Our adventure has started!!! Well, except for the fact that I am still in Canberra working. So really Tamar's the one who should be writing a post. Except she is probably eating dragon fruit in front of the jellyfish on Sentosa while Singaporeans snap selfies with Zadie. So here is a short ramble about what is going on in the endless party that is Canberra.
First, baths. I have taken eight baths in three days. In fact, today for the first time I chain-bathed. That's right, I left the water in so I could just top it up with hot water a half hour later. My earlobes are now permanently pruny but my back likes it, and my pores are opener than they've ever been.
Second, music. I try to walk 10km per day to strengthen the ol' L4/L5, and Spotify has been my friend. Yesterday I marched around Barton to the Philip Glass soundtrack to Mishima, which I give 10/10. And then today I bounced around Kingston to the album 'Music of Vladimir Martynov' by the Kronos Quartet. There's a song on there called The Beatitudes which is absolutely gorgeous.
Third, Scrabble. I've hosted a couple of games since Tamar left which was good fun. I got to play SHEHITA in my last game, which I feel slightly wrong playing because it's the slaughtering of animals in accordance with rabbinical law, but I'm a vegetarian and not very observant. I observe virtually no rituals in slaughtering zucchinis and artichokes. A neat word I learned today is COOLTH, which just means "the state of being cool", like health and illth (yep, also a word)
Fourth, more Scrabble nerdiness! It turns out SPILTH is a word ("That which is spilt") and TILTH ("cultivated land"). We should make up more lths! Just pick any one-syllable word ending in L! The foulth of those leftovers! I wish I had that basketball player's tallth! Now I feel like I have a lispth.
I head to Singapore in a week. Until then, life will be about sorely missing five people, and prepping two vertebrae for a long trip.

Pretty sure the bathing tendency is genetic ... I average 370 baths per year!
