Sometimes it’s going to rain on the parade

We generally enjoy pretty superb weather. According to the internet, here in Canberra, we have about 246 sunny days a year and about 2811 hours of sunshine a year. A decent amount! When compared to Sydney we may get colder temperatures but we get less rain and more sun. When compared to Melbourne our weather seems even more agreeable. Oddly, when compared to Montreal (305 days of sunshine and 2051 hours) we somehow seem to be leading miserable lives. So, what I’ve learned is not to compare too much and just say we enjoy lots of fair weather and sunshine. And we have just had an especially dry sunny winter, so really we have no right to complain when it does rain.

Our six days at the coast were pretty wet. Our camping trip had to be cut short a night early when we discovered that our tents couldn’t really handle hours and hours of downpour and nor could our hearts. While we did have a couple of sunny days at the beach we had more days of cozying up indoors with puzzles and crafts in front of fires and hot beverages and steaming socks just watching the ocean. And the rain is forecasted to continue into the week so we have abandoned our camping plans for the coming weekend too. Though remarkably, while this entire region is being cleansed, Canberra has been cool and cloudy but dry. But who’s comparing.

Aurora was unphased by the rain both because she is great and because she loves board games

Zadie was more willing to go in the this water than the bathtub

Oh to be a child!
Can you spot Tova?

It wasn't all rain!
